Follow directions to dampen the filter first. (there doesn't seem to be an auto turn-off.). This coffee pot makes a great first cup of coffee. It is awkward to pour water in to the reservoir.but it's worth the hassel.
I am. This thing just makes the best coffee of any brewer I've owned. If you pack down the grounds before you brew, you don't have the grounds blowing up over the filter and into your coffee.I'm picky about my coffee. If you buy it to make the best possible cup of coffee, you'll be happy with it. I've had my Moka-Brew for over a year, now.OK, for a manual brewer it's expensive, and its hard to find the disc filters. I just cut basket filters to fit. It doesn't take up much counter space, and people love to watch it brew.
After looking at the options and reviews, we decided on this Krups. My wife and I both LOVE our coffee, so I wanted a decent machine. It does not have the interupt feature where you can sneak a cup before it is completely done, but that has not been too big a problem. We had a Braun cofeemaker that was about 15 years old. The glass pot got cracked and, rather than buy a new pot for an old machine, I searched for new options. So far, we have been very pleased with the result.
A great buy. The filters are easy to create from standard ones and should not be a deterrent to anyone. This is simply the best coffee maker I have ever used. The coffee tastes terrific and produces a wonderful brew (and crema) too. I will purchase this again and again and recommend highly to all coffee lovers.
But the French Press coffee get too cold brewing for 6 minutes, and you cannot load a French Press at night for the morning. Take care to use decent coffee - kaka in, kaka out - if you know what I mean.Buy a burr-type grinder and set for "Fine", too fine and you get some bitter.No matter what, though, this device makes coffee with more body than any other home brewing method, with the exception of the good-ole French Press. Enjoy.
